How and when did the idea of establishing Espania Informatica come about? We were founded in 1979 as a sole proprietorship. On May 17, 2004, we officially launched Espania Informatica with the creation of the tourism system. What were the first products you sold? We started by selling memory and hard drives, focusing on them.
What was the market like back then? What is the basic structure of Espania? At that time, the market was tough, distinctive, and full of challenges. We had to pay the price for what we did. The structure of our company is familial, but rigorously organized by departments. If there is something that sets us apart, it is maintaining the secrecy of our business. It's only a matter of time before our children continue to lead the company. Today, they do so part-time, which makes us very proud.
Time has passed. How have you experienced the market's evolution from that era to today? Change poses a challenge, and we face a different battle every day. Challenges and obstacles always arise that we must overcome to remain competitive and innovative in our market.
How do you define Espania today? What are its key differences compared to its beginnings? Espania Informatica S.A. is a strong and well-established company. The differences compared to the company founded in 1979, over thirty years ago, are striking.
What was the most challenging situation you faced as a company in your opinion? Daily life in Ciudad del Este is tough. Every week is different, presenting us with different scenarios to face and move forward.
How do you view the market in Ciudad del Este today? The market in Ciudad del Este is excellent. It all depends on your level of effort and strategic ability to leverage it.
What product lines does Espania sell today? We focus on two specific fields: information technology and electronics. We sell all product lines under both brands.
What are the most popular products? Is there a product line whose success surprised you? USB drives and Micro HD drives are very popular.
Wish for 2013? More than just a wish, it is a thank you to the great Creator for the strength and the wonderful people surrounding us, who form a great team – all of them, our suppliers, customers, and employees.
